Hardware Design

THe parts on inde drums are really cool.  starting from scratch gave us the OPPORTUNITY to reconsider how drum parts should look, feel, and function.  

Each component is designed with these principals in mind:

1. minimal mass- not only does this make the drums easier to carry to gigs, but less mass mounted to the shell makes the drums more sensitive and improves sustain. 

2. No Dampening materials-  I don't know why this started, but it has become commonplace for drum manufacturers to use rubber gaskets under lugs and mounting brackets, and put plastic inserts in every lug.  These materials convert vibrational energy to thermal energy, and cumulatively deaden the drum. you will find none here. 

3. sexiness- our stuff looks good.  beautiful lines and curves, with each component complimenting the others.
